Good to know

Will editing tags change video quality?

Keep original encoding copies audio and video data without re-encoding. If a source codec cannot go into MP4, switch to playback compatibility. This mode may re-encode video and audio as H.264 and AAC.

What does clearing tags remove?

It clears the six descriptive fields and switches off preservation of other descriptive details. Video, audio, duration and necessary container information remain. This does not fully anonymize a video or remove text visible in its frames.

Which files and browsers work best?

Use a recent Chrome or Edge. Common H.264/AAC MP4 files usually export directly. Files must contain video; unsupported or damaged files show an error. Larger files use more memory, and compatibility mode also depends on your browser’s encoding support.
