RECORDING NOTES

A smoother recording session

Pick what you want to share

Choose a screen, window or browser tab in the browser dialog. Source switching is controlled by your browser. Stopping screen sharing automatically saves the recorded part.

Check picture and sound separately

Shared audio must be allowed in the sharing dialog. Microphone access needs a separate permission. Watch its level and adjust the mix before recording.

Make room for your narration

Choose a circular or rounded overlay. Move, mirror, resize or temporarily hide it. The visible webcam picture is written into the video file.

Keep the recording on your device

Capture, mixing and encoding run in your browser. The video is not uploaded. Finishing releases the screen, microphone and camera before preview and download.

Which devices can use this?

You need HTTPS or localhost and a desktop browser with screen capture support. Recent Chrome or Edge versions work best. Mobile browsers often do not support screen capture; this page checks available capabilities.

Can I switch to another window?

You can work in the shared window. Webcam overlays and resized output are composed on this page; keep it visible to avoid background throttling reducing the frame rate. Closing, refreshing or sleeping the device interrupts capture. Without a webcam, choosing source dimensions records the shared video track directly.

How long can I record, and what happens when I pause?

There is no fixed time limit. Recording uses browser memory and automatically finishes at about 1 GB. Split long demos into clips. Paused time is excluded from the video; resuming continues the same recording. Frame rate and audio availability depend on the device and browser.
